Welcome to Mrs. Macheca's Second Grade Class
 The school year is off to a wonderful start. I am so please to have such a great group of boys and girls. On Monday, Spetember 15th we will fully be into the curriculum in all the core academic areas. We have already started our first chapter in science and will do the same in reading, writing, math, spelling, and handwriting. I am excited about this and all the learning and growing that is going to take place this year.
There has been some changes to the school schedule which has resulted in our own classroom and specials schedule changing. There is a great possiblity that it will be altered again soon, so until I have a permanant schedule I will not post it. I don't want to confuse anyone with all the changes that we have had, and will still have. If you have questions about when we do a certain subject, snack, lunch, or special, please contact me and I will let you know when we are doing it for that current time.
Special Notes:
*I would like to take this time to ask parents to talk with their child about making good choices. Remind them that they are at school to learn and we need to respect the learning of all the students at Madison Academy. Please also discuss with them that there are appropriate and inappropriate times to talk at school.
*Please continue to check your child's red folder each night. The papers on the "finished" side are things that we have completed in class and can be kept at home. There will also be notes from myself and the school on that side. All papers on the "needs to be finished" side are homework. They need to be completed and return to school the next day. Don't forget to initial and date the folder each night so your child can receive a sticker the next morning.
